Apartheid ended after President Frederik
Willem de Klerk made negotiations to try to stop Apartheid. Than in 1990,
Apartheid finally ended. Nelson Mandela made the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC),
which investigated human right violations under Apartheid. Nelson Mandela also introduced housing,
education, and economic development to help black people with economics. He
served as President of South Africa from 1994 to 1999. Nelson Mandela also shared the honor of
winning the Nobel Peace Prize with former President Frederik Willem de Klerk. But even after his term ended, he did not stop
being a great leader. After his presidency he became an 'elder statesman. He also shared
his knowledge about politics to South African elementary students, middle
school students, high school students, and even college students.
