Nelson Mandela’s rights were violated when he was in prison
because black people still got the worst living conditions. He had to live in a
very rundown place. Mandela had to live in a 5x5 cell. He only had a blanket
for a bed, and he had to go to the bathroom in a bucket. With that same bucket
he would have to wash his belongings. On the other hand the white prisoners got
a bigger cell and better food. The black prisoners also had to work in more
life threatening conditions than white prisoners. Some difficulties that Nelson
Mandela experienced where not getting enough food and water, and this made it
so he lacked energy to get through the day. And the prison guards would beat
him if he did not work hard. This made life in prison much more difficult for
Mandela.

He refused t give up his beliefs even thou he could have the chance to be freed.
